Description VERITY is a ski goggle designed to address a critical but overlooked failure in snow sports: the loss of perceptual reliability under flat-light conditions.
In flat-light, visibility is not reduced—terrain remains visible, but depth cues collapse. Skiers can no longer accurately judge distance, slope, or surface variation, often without realizing it. This leads to delayed reactions and increased risk.
VERITY responds by introducing a perceptual compensation system embedded directly within the lens. Instead of adding visual information such as tints or AR overlays, it dynamically modulates light diffusion and contrast distribution, restoring terrain readability at the perceptual level.
The interaction is intentionally minimal: a simple two-step adjustment allows users to adapt to changing conditions without distraction or cognitive overload. The system does not guide or automate decisions but supports the user’s natural judgment.
By shifting from visibility enhancement to perceptual reliability, VERITY redefines how safety is approached in snow sports equipment.
Innovation VERITY redefines snow goggle safety by addressing perceptual failure rather than visibility. In flat-light conditions, depth cues collapse while visibility remains, leading to misjudgment before users are aware .
Instead of adding visual information like tints or AR overlays, VERITY embeds an adaptive optical layer within the lens. It directly modulates how light is perceived, restoring terrain readability without increasing cognitive load.
A simple two-step manual control preserves user agency, avoiding automated decision-making. This approach shifts wearable design from information augmentation to perceptual augmentation, improving reliability without disrupting natural vision.
Product Detail VERITY is a multi-layer optical ski goggle designed for flat-light conditions. The lens system combines an impact-resistant outer polycarbonate lens with an inner electrically controlled optical layer (PDLC/PNLC-based), enabling dynamic modulation of light diffusion and contrast.
An integrated ambient light sensor supports responsive adjustment, while the frame uses flexible TPU with an internal rigid structure for stability in low temperatures. A triple-layer foam system ensures comfort, sealing, and thermal isolation, supported by engineered ventilation to reduce fogging.
The detachable outer lens allows adaptability across weather conditions without affecting the internal perceptual system.
