In this case, those people need to wear medical shoes or special leg support. However, the additional support on the shoes are not aesthetic and also weird to wear in public.
Facing others curious of their extra outsole or limbing make them feel embarrassed and different from others, also LLD users don’t feel themselves as a normal buyer as they need to go clinic or other stores to customize their height
Innovation Updraft 001 is a stylish, comfortable all-conditional footwear for leg length discrepancy that corrects imbalance, reduces strain, and enhances mobility with customizable lifts, robust support, and discreet, durable aesthetics to help improve their performance of exercising and physical activities during all-conditional environment and weather.
The Updraft System is an insert system that make use of 3D printing TPU parts to customize and adjust the insert for the users.
Product Detail Updraft 001 is made for leg length discrepancy users to handle all-conditional weather and environment. Addressing the underserved needs of people with Leg Length Discrepancy (LLD)—a condition where one leg is shorter, causing pain, gait imbalance, and emotional frustration from limited, stigmatizing footwear options. Current solutions are slow, costly, and alienating.
In the material aspect, the water-proof nylon textile is used for dealing all-conditional weather and environment, the transparent texture also creates an exploded view of the inner structure of the orange nylon laces strap system. Using white layer for protection of heel, ankle and toe of the shoe, The orange insert of Updraft System create a great contrast with the grey foam midsole.
By inserting the 3D printed part, users can customize their own height on to the shoe, in Updraft 001, carbon fiber plate is inserted inside the foam midsole to provide stability and power generation while users stepping on them.
Specification At this stage, Updraft 001 is still in prototyping stage, but in the future I plan to make it a shoe that can be all size and age available, enhance the living quality and sports habits of the users having leg length discrepancy.
For the color, I have made use of orange, white, black and grey to create the stylish and high-tech tone of the product.
