Various professional sports have millions of viewers (in stadiums or through visual media) all around the world and one of the main reasons for a great event like the Olympics is to bring and advocate cultural exchange, and unity among nations through sports. Professional sports leagues are combined of players from different countries with variety of backgrounds with only one thing as the goal in their mind and that is the success of their teams. On the other hand, professional sports competitions have been a strong avenue for raising awareness about social, humanity, etc. issues. In some of the ball sports, such as football (soccer) the balls and their design have become iconic symbols or message carriers. While basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world, its Iconic ball structure and design haven’t changed much during decades in the history of this sport.
Innovation Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world, but its ball structure and design haven’t changed much during decades in the history of this sport. We used this opportunity and used the ball as a perfect tool to advocate for unity between nations and as well as races in the world. This new structure also provides a consistent additional texture for hand grip for the players.
Considering the fact that based on the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport, at the NBA league in 2021, 73.2 percent of the players were black makes this game a prime candidate among all ball sports. This fact has turned the basketball games/events (especially NBA League) into a strong avenue to protest inequity and ask for unity in the human race.
