Description
Having had a backpack planned for some time, I started thinking about other designs as well and decided to launch the Halfpak due to the complexities of self-production. The design was born out of a conversation with a cycling friend. We discussed the need for an easy to wear, versatile, all-weather bag. It had to be easy to throw on, fit the few things we needed for a ride, and look good both on and off the bike. Perfect for biking, hiking, gearing up for the gym or a trek outside. I have tested the design for months and am excited to share the results of that hard work. Backpacks are getting so huge, high tech, and overly complex these days, so this is for those of us who don't want to haul a laptop or full video rig everywhere. I've created a backpack that's incredibly comfortable, lightweight, modern, and slim. At just half the size of a standard backpack, I present the aptly named HALFPAK.

Innovation
All webbing is military spec polypro, which is exceptionally durable, highly colorfast, and does not absorb water. The Fidlock brand buckle is German-engineered from stainless steel, heavy duty plastic, and strong magnets, with minimal moving parts for excellent longterm wear. Paired with a breaking load of 154lbs, these buckles are strong, super easy to use, and made to last.
The shoulder strap is padded with a long lasting natural 1/4" industrial wool felt and adorned with two welded steel D-rings.
I've replaced the standard top locker loop handle with a utility rope that runs 3/4 of the way around the bag's circumference--a detail that enables you to grab the bag from any angle, but the lightweight US-made rope is UV and rot resistant and has a test load of 1200lbs (although it should not be used as a safety line). Made by the same company, the zipper pulls are much thinner but still boast the same specs and a 275lb test load for those times you REALLY need to get into your bag. The zippers themselves are quality YKK NATULON #5 Vislon zippers, which equates to an incredibly durable and smooth open-close action zipper that helps keep moisture out.

Product Detail
I've found multiple components in this category with more in the works. In particular, the lining of the Halfpak is made from recycled bag cloth by Challenge Sailcloth. It’s a single ply woven recycled polyester with eco friendly water-repellent and water-resistant PU coating. Every yard saves about one pound of carbon emission compared to standard nylon or polyester bag fabrics, and each Halfpak uses more than a half yard of Challenge RBC.
I use YKK mechanically recycled NATULON zippers, which are made of 99% post-consumer recycled materials, and just one plastic bottle can make three zippers!
The Halfpak’s shoulder strap padding is a medium density industrial wool felt, made with a minimum 95% wool. It's naturally sustainable, breathable, water resistant, and manufactured in the US. It’s comfortable and makes a great substitute for foam rubbers typically used for padding.

Specification
The Halfpak currently comes in one size and is for everyone.
I'm making it available in a range of colors that will continue to grow as suitable materials become available. I started the line with classic Nylon colors such as Black, White, Forest, Navy, Silver, Neon Pink, and Hi-Vis Yellow. At the moment exploring more Hi-Vis and Reflective colors as safety sku's.

Halfpak dimensions are 3.5"D x 7"W x 15"H
