Description Tarsus is a premium chalk bag featuring a magnetic opening, two exterior pockets, various sized brush loops, and a detachable chalk sock. This chalk bag allows climbers to focus on the art of climbing without technical distractions.
Innovation The Tarsus Chalk Bag was designed with the intention of minimizing chalk spillage and making the chalking process more efficient by using magnetic closures. This makes it so that the user can open the bag in less time than a typical drawstring method without having to manually close the bag, since the magnets naturally close together. This chalk bag takes other features such as a phone pocket and multiple brush loops that are often found on chalk buckets, and applies them to a regular chalk bag. Waterproof materials were selected so that the surface can be wiped clean and even withstand wet conditions both on the interior and exterior of the bag.
Product Detail The primary structure of the bag is made of reinforced vinyl fabric with a waterproof lining, while the outer shell is recycled nylon. The handle loop is made of double-layered polyester webbing for optimal durability. The outer shell of the bag is shaped so that it functions as the loop for a waist belt and hides the brush loops for a more minimal appearance.
Specification The Tarsus bag comes in one standard size and weight. The size of the opening is designed to accommodate all hand sizes. Future bags will come in a variety of colors, including but not limited to navy, charcoal grey, and brown.
Bio Hi, I am a second year industrial design student at the University of Houston. I enjoy indoor bouldering and spending time in nature. I am interested in designing a prototyping gear and accessories for outdoor activities.
