Description My project 'Skateraid' aims to promote sustainable urban micro mobility through fashion and textiles, offering a safe, versatile, and attractive outfit for people commuting on skates in the city. This consists of an oversized jacket with zippers to remove the sleeves until the length you want. An additional jacket to wear on top that has reflective fabric and a removable hood. And a pair of cargo pants that can become cargo shorts by removing one zipper. The possibilities of wearing the outfit are endless and fun.
Innovation The product has LED lights on the bottom back of the jacket. This provides additional lighting when using a skateboard at night. The lights flicker on and off to create a sequencial pattern. The jacket has a cropped coat on top which includes reflective fabric, this also provides additional lighting in case of riding at night. Also, you can style the jacket in several different ways, due to the high removable parts of the jacket. This means the user can decide how to wear the outfits depending on the weather and on their style preference that day.
Product Detail The outfit, that includes a sports jacket, cargo pants and a cropped coat to go on top is made from 100% poliester, waterproof textile. The jacket has zippers that separates the sleeves into three separate parts, making the user able to decide how the would like to wear the jacket. As well as the pants they have zippers to make the pants into cargo shorts. The sleeves also include lycra to improve mobility. The cropped jacket has a removable hoodie and has reflective fabric.
Specification The outfit is sized medium to large and is unisex and the fit is oversized to improve mobility. The garments are black, however it includes a lining that has a graffiti urban print which creates a contrast with the color of the outfit. The jacket is created for any type of weather, since you can remove sleeves and shorten the pants. The lining of the jacket includes a graffiti print designed by myself made in the same material than the outer fabric.
