Description
As a team, we focused on redesigning the Easy Rider and delved into our target market of workers who spend long hours on their feet. Our shoe is designed for everyone but will be particularly beneficial for workers in various fields such as healthcare, cleaning, and hairdressing. We believe that no one should have to sacrifice personal style for comfort. Additionally, research indicates that this is a large, underserved market. Hence, our shoe concept aims to achieve the APMA seal of approval. The American Podiatric Medical Association seal is awarded to shoes proven to be beneficial to foot health. Shoes must be reviewed by a board of certified podiatrists to earn the seal, giving our shoes an air of legitimacy. Our target demographic specifically seeks out shoes with this seal, a fact that will help with marketability and advertising. Ultimately, through researching both the original long-distance Easy Rider model and its current street-style version, we combined the heritage of the Easy Rider with modern performance and comfort features.

Innovation
Puma consistently stands out from a sea of competitors through their ability to innovate. An early example of this innovation is the Easy Rider. Invented in 1977, the Easy Rider aimed to reduce injuries in long-distance runners. Its creation led to an entire line of shoes known as the Rider Family. Over time, these shoes have transitioned from their athletic origins to focus on streetwear styles. Thus we created ‘Cozy Rider’ to merge the Easy Rider of the past with the Rider family of the present day. Honouring Puma’s dedication to safety and comfort while embracing streetwear trends, we ultimately designed a comfortable yet stylish shoe, potentially shaping the next generation of the Rider Family.

Product Detail
To craft a comfortable shoe, we carefully selected materials for both comfort and stability during long hours of wear. The upper features a mesh textile combined with open-cell foam for insulation. Nubuck leather, derived from cowhide, offers softness and exceptional wear resistance. Memory foam, a synthetic material, is utilized for the collar and tongue, ensuring comfort and personalized fit. The interior lining consists of cambrelle, prized for its abrasion resistance, softness, and moisture-absorbing properties. Ortholite X-Sorb Insoles provide comfort, stability, and shock absorption, reducing fatigue without restricting movement. The outsole, made of thermoplastic rubber, offers excellent shock absorption and slip resistance. The midsole, crafted from polyurethane, rebounds effectively, providing reliable cushioning and flexibility. Combined with Puma's patented RS cushioning, these features culminate in the perfect midsole solution.
