Description
e2cycle is a ready-to-use source of performance textiles with unique sustainability credentials. This groundbreaking PET recycling technology transforms electronic waste (e-waste), such as discarded electronics, into high-quality recycled PET materials, which are then used to produce 100% PFC-free, mono PET waterproof-breathable textiles.

Apparel brands now have a new avenue for creating eco-friendly, high-performance outerwear that resonates with environmentally conscious consumers through e2cycle. The entire production process of collecting, sorting, extracting, purifying, and converting e-waste PET into high-quality recycled granules for textile production is compliant with EU REACH and validated by bluesign® specifications.

Aiming to tackle the environmental problem of e-waste and the scarcity of recycled PET materials for textile use, e2cycle promotes textile manufacturing rooted in circular economy principles while working to reduce the carbon footprint of the textile industry. Just as a butterfly emerges anew, e2cycle breathes new life into e-waste by repurposing PET from discarded electronics into high-performance, sustainable textiles.

Innovation
The dirty truth about the textile industry is that it is a substantial source of pollution worldwide. At the same time, discarded e-waste from the electronics industry is growing at an alarming rate. e2cycle bridges these two challenges by transforming e-waste into high-performance textiles, significantly reducing reliance on virgin materials and minimizing the harmful environmental footprint of traditional textile production.

Combining advanced materials science with textile innovation, e2cycle addresses the scarcity of recycled PET and overcomes technological barriers in the textile industry. By converting valuable PET from e-waste into eco-friendly alternatives, it reduces landfill waste and provides sustainable, high-performance solutions.

Additionally, e2cycle’s 100% PFC-free technology ensures safe, non-toxic end products, broadening their applications across fashion and textiles. By utilizing recycled PET from e-waste, e2cycle not only promotes sustainability but also fosters a circular economy, effectively closing the loop on waste materials.

Product Detail
Xpore e2cycle is a technology that efficiently transforms electronic waste (e-waste) into polyethylene terephthalate (PET) membranes for high-quality textile applications. It involves a mechanical recycling process that begins with collecting and sorting e-waste, followed by the extraction and purification of PET content.

The recycled PET is then processed into granules, which are used to produce yarn and membranes. These materials are laminated to create 100% PFC-free, mono PET waterproof textiles, and are available to apparel manufacturers in various forms, including premium 50D outer fabrics and soft-touch 30D linings. They are highly durable, waterproof and breathable, and eco-friendly in nature, making them ideal for high-performance, outdoor apparel and urban fashion designs.

Benchmarked against competing PET-based textiles, e2cycle laminated fabric is comparable in terms of thickness, water resistance, moisture permeability, and weight. Compared specifically to yarn made from recycled plastic bottles, e2cycle exhibits similar tenacity and elongation characteristics, allowing for seamless direct substitution within existing recycled PET fabric production.
