Description
I created a footwear collection to complement a collection from JCRT, a brand I respect because of their emphasis on telling a story with fashion. Taking inspiration from a variety of subcultural sources, JCRT founders say, "Each collection of shirts and trousers reimagines the possibilities of plaid, with proprietary patterns that remix an array of references and inspirations, from military camos and iconic book jackets to classic horror movies and post-punk album covers." My hope was to create a footwear line that would honor their vision while combining it with my own design aesthetic.

Innovation
Part of my goal was to bring traditionally 2D design elements from the JCRT collection - like the eyes and the mouth - into a 3D construct on the footwear. While bulky, these would be made with lightweight material to ensure comfort and ease of use.

Specification
This design project was a concept only, but was intended to be available as a unisex product in which traditional gender was not a consideration and both industry-norm men/women sizes would be available. Colors would coordinated with the appropriate JCRT collection colors.
