Description
We're living in an era that sees hiking losing its authenticity, with people diverting from the benefits of conscious immersion, in which feeling should be at the heart of practice. This is due to technological innovations focused on performance monitoring, emphasizing on quantifiable, measurable data. At the same time, social networks transform landscapes into mere backdrops, every photo taken feeding a quest for digital validation.

The PLAQ project takes shape against those circumstances aiming to counter these trends and restore the value of the authenticity in experiences in the great outdoors. This project focuses on a stage that is often neglected during expeditions: meals.

Thanks to this innovative kit, hikers can cook real, tasty and varied meals, worthy of those prepared at home, while meeting the specific constraints of adventure, such as weight and ergonomics.

Innovation
This concept goes far beyond the simple plate designed to hold a meal. It offers the possibility of creating a truly modular, made-to-measure work surface, designed to adapt to outdoor environments.

Whether you're dining alone or with friends, PLAQ becomes a fun, interactive product, inviting users to imagine the ideal layout to suit the number of guests, their culinary desires and the particular features of the site. Comprising a wooden top and recycled PE legs, it combines simplicity and ingenuity. Each tray has a dual function: a hollow side, ideal as a plate or container, and a flat side, perfect for cutting ingredients.

But PLAQ goes far beyond the purely utilitarian. This kit becomes a vehicle for well-being, transforming the meal into a key moment, conducive to a natural experience.

And now it's your turn!

Product Detail
This product embodies the perfect balance between sleek, modern design and a deep commitment to responsible design. Designed to meet the expectations of demanding users, it combines reliability, aesthetics and respect for the environment. Every detail of its design reflects a desire to minimise its ecological impact while maximising its visual appeal and functionality.

The top, the central element of the product, is made from FSC certified glued laminated beech. This certification guarantees that the wood comes from sustainably managed forests, respecting both the preservation of natural resources and local communities. After machining, a natural balm based on coconut oil and beeswax will be applied to the tray to protect it with a food solution.

The legs of the tabletop are made from recyclable polyethylene (PE) from a recycling network, reducing the consumption of virgin resources. This material guarantees a long lifespan while offering an eco-responsible solution, and can be easily recycled at the end of its life. To enhance the stability of the tray while adding an aesthetic touch, the legs have cork pads on the underside to absorb any unevenness in the floor.

Specification
The concept of this kit is based on a design that facilitates affordance: a simple machined wooden tray, weighing around 475 g, with a thickness of 18 mm and a diameter of 300 mm. This is complemented by three feet in recycled PE for optimum flexibility, each weighing 25 g and measuring 42 mm high and 40 mm in diameter. With a total weight of just 550 g, this kit is easy to attach to a bag and is perfectly suited to the specific constraints of outdoor adventures, combining lightness and ergonomics.
