Description Polar Optix Goggles enhance skiers’ field of vision with an extended face shield, integrating a customizable heads-up display (HUD) for real-time updates on speed, weather, and elevation. Designed for comfort and durability, they feature anti-fog, hydrophobic lenses, and mesh ventilation to ensure clarity in all conditions. Large, glove-friendly buttons allow seamless HUD control, while impact sensors detect falls, automatically triggering an SOS alert unless canceled. These goggles prioritize safety, convenience, and high performance, catering to skiers who seek hands-free access to essential data while maintaining focus on the slopes.
Innovation The goggles feature an open bottom, allowing for improved field of vision. There is a mesh ventilation strip and the top of the goggles to allow for extra air flow to decrease fogging on the lens. Integrated into the lens is a head-up display, which is customizable in the app. The heads-up display can be turned on and off with the control button on the side of the lens. Crash and emergency detection are also integrated into the goggles, ensuring the user is safe while on the slopes.
When a crash is detected, the user has several a time window to disable the SOS feature, which otherwise will automatically call for help in case the user was incapacitated from the crash/fall and is unable to call for help. Deactivating the SOS is simple, pressing down both corner buttons. While this is easy to do with gloves on, it is hard for the terrain to do if the user is face down; preventing the call from accidentally being cancelled by the terrain.
Product Detail The goggles feature multiple hardware and software components. The frame is a flexible and strong TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) with Polyurethane foam padding and ventilation mesh areas to prevent sweat and fogging. PolarOptix utilises a multi-layer lens design made from Poly-carbonate for UV resistance and has a polarized outer lens for glare reduction. The double layered approach reduces fog within the lens. The display can be configured using a mobile app. To interact with the software, the user presses the corners of the lense which act as buttons while still being see-thru as goggles. The buttons are large and easy to push while wearing gloves, but inset to the goggle frame to prevent them from being accidentally pushed while adjusting the goggle fit or by accident.
Specification The goggles feature an adjustable strap and a foam cushion around the frame that allows a good fit for various head sizes and shapes. The product comes in obsidian or powder white.
