Description
AMARTE explores resistance and transformation in a dystopian future. Set in 10,190, the world has dramatically changed as humanity discovers new galaxies and life on other planets, sparking an interplanetary war led by Earth’s global government. Their mission: to dominate and enslave every species they encounter.

Within the military, a woman serves as a spy for the revolutionary party, covertly gathering intelligence for the rebels. Her uniform, adorned with crosses, becomes an iconic symbol of resistance and the driving inspiration behind this project.

The jacket blends art, fashion, and technology. It is designed from a study of public transportation, exploring how individuals engage with their urban surroundings amidst everyday resistance. The garment incorporates Arduinos with LED lights, signaling drivers when pedestrians walk at night, symbolizing hope. These lights draw inspiration from "carilleras," belts worn by women during the Mexican Revolution to carry bullets, adding a historical layer of rebellion and resilience.

AMARTE is a call to recognize resistance as justice and transformation, using fashion as a tool for storytelling and challenging power structures.

Innovation
AMARTE originates from a study on public transportation, focusing on how individuals navigate and interact with their urban surroundings. In Mexico City, pedestrian accidents account for approximately 50% of the 1,000 annual traffic-related fatalities, with pedestrians being about 60% more likely to be involved in accidents at night compared to the daytime. To address this issue, the jacket incorporates Arduinos with over 20 LED lights, designed to illuminate and signal drivers when a pedestrian is present, increasing visibility by up to 70%.

Additionally, given the high incidence of theft, we integrated numerous hidden pockets, allowing individuals to better distribute their belongings. Furthermore, an extra pocket has been added to the sleeve, providing a convenient space to store coins or cards in advance, minimizing the likelihood of theft.

By incorporating these features, the jacket aims to enhance pedestrian safety and protect the user’s belongings.

Product Detail
The jacket features a crossover silhouette secured with four front silver buttons, a high collar, and knitted cuffs that enhance comfort and fit. The knitted fabric is positioned in a 2x2 gauge 12 structure and is composed of 100% acrylic. An overlaid belt cinches the waist, while two rectangular elements extend from the main cut, crossing the entire jacket and fastening at the back, creating a sense of movement and layering. The shoulders incorporate decorative details with two buttons on each side, while the sleeves are structured with darts and upper volume, adding a sculptural quality to the design. The jacket also incorporates tergal fabric, composed of 100% polyester, with a width and weight of 1.60 m, ensuring durability and structure.

Specification
This womenswear jacket is a seamless blend of functionality and conceptual depth, distinguished by its meticulously crafted cut and the precision of its construction. Each piece is executed with care using a straight-stitch machine, ensuring a perfect balance of durability and exacting detail. Thoughtfully designed, the jacket features two straps, one of which includes a practical pocket on the back, while the lining reveals an internal pocket and a hidden one inside the cuff, offering a subtle yet functional sophistication.

The pattern is built around a repetition motif inspired by the oxidation process, telling the tale of abandoned spacecraft that, over time, fall into neglect and corrosion. Simultaneously, the design reflects a planet teetering on the edge of destruction, capturing th
