Description The project focuses on designing AR glasses for mountain bikers to improve safety and performance. Research through observations and interviews identified key challenges, such as difficulty detecting dangers on roads and off-road trails, sharp turns, slippery surfaces, and changing weather conditions. Riders also struggle with distractions when checking navigation devices at high speeds, increasing accident risks.
To address these issues, AR goggles were designed to keep riders focused on the track. The goggles include essential features like a power switch, audio interface, emergency activation, and water resistance for durability in extreme conditions. Technologies such as heads-up displays and Ride Vision provide real-time hazard warnings, enhancing rider awareness without requiring them to look away. This design minimizes distractions and improves safety in both urban and off-road environments.
Innovation The AR goggles project introduces an innovative approach to enhancing safety, performance, and user experience for mountain bikers. By integrating augmented reality (AR) technology with advanced safety and navigation features, these goggles provide real-time assistance while ensuring that riders remain fully focused on the track. The innovation lies in the seamless integration of digital information into the physical riding experience, addressing key challenges in mountain biking.
