Japan Industrial Design Association (JIDA)

The Japan Industrial Design Association (JIDA) is the only national organization for professional industrial design. Its predecessor was the Japan Industrial Designers Association, founded in 1952, which was renamed the Japan Industrial Design Association in 2021.

JIDA’s specific activities are centered on six public interest projects: “surveys and research, seminars, hands-on activities, qualification granting, museums, and exchanges. In addition to these activities, JIDA strives to enhance the professional skills of its members by sharing information and providing professional support to each other. These activities synergistically deepen and enrich industrial design and contribute to an ever-changing society.
